hiya BL!

i've been stickin' my head in, right quick like, now and again....'nuff to know you're okay and survived the storms.

the rest of the stuff, i jes' haven't gotten to yet......this weekend is my ketchin' up on readin time. well, if the Lord's willin' and the crick don't rise, as my Aunt Maisie used to say. ha!

so, please, i beg of you, don't edit anything else until Monday! my memory ain't what it once was and it was never what anyone would describe as good, lol!

seriously....it sucks.

you always have good stuff, links and such; and now i've lost your lovely *Making an Entrance* poem, which was something i wanted add to my DY book - but only with your permission. (i never copy anything or even save anything unless i ask) and i like to linger over thangs, reread DY adventures several times over, take my time watching the links to videos, photos, news articles, etc, etc. so i don't always get to them as soon as i first see them.

and i know i'm not the only one who appreciates your efforts.

just so you know. Very Happy

if you decide to join Route 23, that would be wonderful!
your voice would surely be a wonderful addition.
i wish everyone here would.

no one here needs to be monitored - think that's obvious - but DY & co need to hear everyone here.
i really believe that.

good, smart, fun, interesting people all.....

RT. 23 ain't perfect but in the DY fan's world it's the best we've had so far.....and it's kind of up to us to make it what we want it to be, imho.

Making an Entrance!

I have thought in the past
how Dwight Yoakam
has to enter a lot of places
through the backdoor
Into a maze of halls and chaos
of this and that
leftover remenants of things
pushed to the back spaces
of places and for fire safety's sake
hopefully hidden behind closed doors
For a neat and orderly person
this must be a
put the blindfold on moment
lead me to greener pastures
and shut the door
shut out the world
till showtime
And during the tour
moments of soundcheck
quiet study of open seats
spreading out like a fan
Each place different
yet the same
Then back to chaos
of dealing with folks
Faces, arms extended ,handshakes
sometimes hugs from Familiar arms
and okay but still not alot of choice
hugs from folks diving in on you
with expressions of you are the best dessert
and I am going to get to have you
on my plate and you better smile about it
All part of being a Showperson
Back to the Backdoor
and Side doors
and click clacking floors
and halls that echo
so you whisper
A place where the key is a ticket
and for those entering the grand entrance
the ticket a key
For all that stands between
is a curtain,a door
and the red carpeted floor
and bright lights
